I Don't Quit, I Shift!
Dear Abba,
This time last year I was stressed out functioning at full throttle. Adrenaline, and tension were driving me forward. Sometimes life happens and we maintain abnormal velocities to keep pace. From October 2024 until April 2025 I would experience the longest sprint of my life. I was one of the caregivers for our mother as she approached the ending of her health challenges. While our relationship was not without hardship; I loved and honored her flaws and all. I may make her famed sweet potato pie in her honor this year for the holidays. 👀 Nevertheless, I am moving through life focusing on my future.
Thankfully, I am much calmer these days and my body, mind, and nervous system are finding a safer rhythm for me to live and thrive. The Most High made us with the capacity to adjust. Ruach helps us to regulate our emotions.
Kislev/November is the time we acknowledge Caregivers. Happy Caregivers Month!
We are grateful and appreciative for medical advocates, family spokespersons, and caregivers who provide compassion, love, and support for all who need it whether they are at home or in a facility. I do have a stern message for your consideration.
I would like to caution those in the healthcare industry (CNA, MA, LPN, RN, Physician assistant, MD, surgeons, specialist, direct support, and patient care staffers) do not take the job unless you have the integrity to do what is right for the sick, and disabled. In my experiences over the course of several years and mainly last year concerning my mother; some medical professionals of our community were not suitable for the job. It is alarming misconduct goes ignored because of personnel shortages.
I would find my way in confrontation to shame individuals using firm language for their poor job performance! Listen, if you are caring for a loved one and professionals are subpar, please respectfully advocate above their heads or have someone as proxy handle those issues while you provide direct care. If you are a family member sharing your time and or resources while a loved one is incapacitated, please remember you will reap the good or bad seeds you sow! Do your best according to your capabilities. There is always some space to fill when handling those in need of care.
Let's go to the Holy Bible... Acts 3
The man laying at the Beautiful gate near the temple was born unable to walk. What he was born with, Peter and John were born for. They didn't have the money he expected but they had access to the power of The Most High and His authority.
Peter said, “I don’t have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Yahusha of Natzeret, walk!” He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up. In an instant his feet and ankles became firm. He jumped to his feet and walked.
May we usher back in the Days of Awe! May we see Image-Bearers receive their healing and deliverance! May our compassion move us to operate in the gifts of Ruach Hakodesh! May testimonies of amazement become the norm around the world! Thy Kingdom comes in earth as it is in heaven! HalleluYAH. Amen.
Shalom, Shalom
